****************************************************************************
After a couple of months since Syphus joined the San 'dOrian Crimson Wolves unit and his parents and Tephus moving away, turmoile with the beastmen began to rise. During this time Syphus was a young and valient Warrior with much potential. He could not become truly happy since the day his family left him. He felt that his family left him for dead in the hands of the army. After many missions and confrontations with the beastment, they thought the orcs would give up. Until the leader of the Crimson Wolves was given information on a Orcish force building in Davoi. The Crimson Wolves were dispatched to Jugner Forest to survey and ambush any Orcish soldiers leaving Davoi. They waited for a couple of days, and nothing stirred in the Orcish fort. Then a messenger on a chocobo from San d'Oria came and gave disturbing information that an outland town was being attacked by the beastmen. The Crimson Wolves quickly made their way to the town.

The Bastoken Army was already there, but were being overwhelmed. The leader said their best option was to divide into groups and surprise attack the beastmen while the beastmen focus on the Bastoken Army. Syphus' group was made up of a WHM, BLM, PLD, RNG, and another WAR. They moved through the town quickly dispatching any beastmen they seen. All of the beastmen so far have been goblins, and this concered the PLD in the group. He said that goblins were smarter than their orcish brothers and they should be cautious. They continued advancing toward the center of the town to try and find any survivors and/or meet up with the rest of the Crimson Wolves. As they travled they wandered into a dead end. They examined the ruins of the buildings that surrounded them, but found no-one alive. Then a horde of goblins cut off the only way to escape and were quickly surrounded. The WHM took to the center, being surrounded by the rest of her pt for protection. The goblins ran in for the attack. This battle was firece, and many of the goblins fell before the great warriors of San d'Oria. Although they were winning, they were growing tired and there were too many goblins. The heros began to fall. The first to fall was the other Warrior. In order to try and save everyone, the BLM called forth "Manafont" and started casting area spells like no tomorrow. This caused the goblins to go after her, and she fell. The PLD called forth "Invincible" and tried to get the attention of many of the gobs as he could. The RNG began firing off arrows like a madman, trying to take down as many of the goblins as possible while "Invincible" was up. Syphus was going to call forth "Mighty Strikes", but it would not come forth. He didn't understand why. "Invincible" finally fell, and the PLD and RNG were getting hammered. Syphus tried as much as he could to get the goblins attention, but it was all in vain. The WHM could not let anyone else die while she was alive and let "Benediction" flow out to her comrades. Some goblins went after her, and Syphus got inbetween them and her, saying to himself that he would not let her parish. The fighting went on and the PLD and RNG finally fell. Syphus kept on fighting, trying to protect the WHM at all costs. Then Syphus was dealt a heavy blow, and was brought to his knees. In her final attempt, the WHM used "Divine Seal" and casted Cure III on Syphus, almost healing him to full. This really upset the goblins that were still alive and attacking Syphus. They went after her and she was dispatched. Seeing his final comrade fall before their enemies and something, something familiar began to rise up within him. It was the hatred and the darkness that he felt that fateful day in La Theine as a child. His arm that bore the scar of the demon general burned and glowed with a dark aura. The goblins turned to him and at first thought they were going to take him down with ease. Syphus stared at the goblins, becoming more enraged, and became surrounded by the dark aura. His eyes glowed with a blood red, and the goblins began to cower, for they not knew what was happening. Syphus grab ahold of his great axe and let out a bloodcurtling cry! Rushing at the goblins, he cut them down with one slash each. Still empowered by the dark aura, Syphus ran all over the town, slaying every goblin he seen. Syphus heard a cry for help and ran at amazing speed towards it. He found a really big goblin standing over a small hume boy. The goblin must have been the leader of the group of goblins. Once again, Syphus let out a cry for war and death and charged towards the goblin. The goblin turned around and seen the monstrocity that was Syphus. The goblin knew what Syphus had become, but he knew that Syphus and him were evenly matched in strength. It was great axe against sword, smashing and clanging metal could be heard from yards away. The boy stood up, watching the gobling and a strange elvaan battling to the death. Feeling an abundanced of hatred toward the goblin for all what has been caused, he clenched his fists. The boy felt a growing power within him, and he could not control it. As much as he tried to calm it, it became more and more powerful. Then finally he focused as much of he could into a space between his hands. A black orb grew between his hands and began to shine. Feeling scared of the power that was in his hands, the boy threw the orb into the sky. Whirling clouds formed, thunder and lightening clashed. Both the goblin and Syphus looked up into the sky above them. A whirling vortex of clouds and lightening was above them. Then suddenly, a great stone was emerging from the vortex. The magic known as "Meteor" had been release from the boy. The goblin knew there was no-where to run, and stood there gazing up at the great rock begining to fall from the heavens. Syphus on the other hand began to run away. The boy collapsed, because the ether that was released from his body left him drained. The "Meteor" came crashing down with unbelievable force and crushed almost the entire area.

When the dust finally settled, the town did not look like a town anymore. A medic team was dispatched in the area by San d'Oria, even though they did not expect to find anyone alive. As the medic team scoured the ruins, they eventually found Syphus and the boy, unconscious yet still breathing. Both were taken back to San d'Oria and Syphus was place in intensive care. The boy seemed fine, except for a couple of scraps and brusises. After being unconscious for 4 days straight, Syphus came to. Syphus was given news that he was the only survivor of the Crimson Wolves unit and a boy was the only survivor of the town. The boy came and visited Syphus later that night. The said his name was Creon, a BLM in training. Creon asked Syphus why was he surrounded in a dark aura during the fight with the goblin leader. Syphus told Creon that he did not know, and that he should not worry about what happened that night. Creon also thanked Syphus for saving him. The doctor told Syphus that during the time he was unconcious, he lost alot of the strength he once had. Creon then pledged to aid Syphus in any way that he can. Creon owed his life to Syphus, and therefore felt a deep connection with him. To this day, Creon and Syphus are still the closest of friends.
